Polo is an exciting, fast paced, action-packed horseback sport with a fantastic social life and great people.

Here at Nottingham, we have a growing membership that caters for a wide range of abilities and interests. UoN Polo really does welcome anyone; whether you have ridden before or not. If you are an experienced and competitive rider UoN Polo can offer you something different to get involved in. Polo is the best way to carry on horse riding whilst at university. Our aim is to provide students with a startling social and sporting experience. We aim to give as many people the opportunity to experience polo as possible. Even if you have never played polo before it is a great pastime to try and lots of fun for everyone involved. It offers the prospect to do something entirely new with horses and get involved in one of Nottingham’s many sporting teams.

2014/2015 was a great year for UoN Polo and 2015/2016 is set to be even better.

You will have weekly lessons to help improve your game. This all happens at Rugby Polo Club and Leadenham which has a wide selection of horses and some great instructors to guide you through polo. They also offer training matches and friendlies against other universities, it’s a great way to play polo and socialise with players at other universities. Lessons are at student prices, which makes this the best time to try out polo and get a taste for it.

Each year we compete in many tournaments, notably the Winter and Summer Nationals which occur in mid-February and mid-June, and consist of three days of playing polo against other universities from across the country. We enter teams at every levels so even if you have just started polo you are still able to compete at Nationals. It is a fantastic opportunity to play polo competitively against other universities and socialise with like-minded people. We also try and enter as many friendlies and other competitions as possible so you can really get the most out of polo each year.
